John Lewis Partnership lays on lunch for LEAP clients and volunteers
More than 100 LEAP clients, volunteers and staff enjoyed a slap-up lunch in Carrigan’s Blantyre on Wednesday 24 January thanks to John Lewis Partnership’s Community Matters fund.
The Partnership nominated LEAP and paid for the lunch, which was well received by everyone who attended. Complementing the food was entertainment by pupils from High Blantyre Primary School and Nursery.
Georgie Madden, LEAP’s business development manager, who arranged the day said: “We are extremely grateful to John Lewis Partnership for this kind award.
“Many of our clients feel isolated and events such as this help combat that, and it was great to see Jacqueline and Carole-Anne from the partnership come along on the day to see what a difference their kindness made.”
Jacqueline McEwan, John Lewis’ Partner & Customer Service Team Manager, said: “The Partners voted for LEAP to receive this grant as their project really touched our hearts - our entire business is built around our Purpose of Working in partnership for a Happier World.
“LEAP absolutely reflects those Values as an organisation of like-minded people working together to make their own world a little happier too. We're excited to see how we can take this new friendship forward.”
